I just finished watching Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars. I don't quite know how to sum it all up. Dramactic is too bland a word for it. Its at least 100 times more dramactic than Star Trek. I can quite easily say its twice as dramactic as Babylon 5, shocking I know but it really was. I'm trying to think of levels that people can relate to really, to convey how much raw power this show had. I'd say its the most dramactic show I've ever seen.
To clarify somewhat. I'm not at all saying its better than Babylon 5, or Buffy, or Angel, or The Next Gen, or anything. But, for sheer tension and dramactic storytelling, its just mind blowing.
Congrats to the fans for saving Farscape so it could be finished. It would have been nice to have the entire 5th season, but what we got was bloody well done.
My first book arrived \o/. It was printed using MyPublisher and looks great.
So it seems that now people can spoof secure connections using IE. Isn't that cool. You could think you were on a secure PayPal site, when in fact you're giving your details to some 10yr old in France. Oh joy.
So there's this excellent Matrix Trilogy Boxset out in Dec. 10 DVD's, a book and a model. Theres also this Spiderman 2 Boxset with fancy shiny things that needs to be bought :) As these two films are out soon and Halo 2, I'm going to be a 5.1/DTS setup for my Xbox. It does deserve it :)
Yet another IE article, this time from a magazine thats meant to be a MS specialist. Shocking stuff. Whatever next, Bill Gates running Firefox?
Its good to see another brand name moving to a more CSS based design. The Disney Store UK is now fully CSS based. It even validates as XHTML 1.0 Transitional and even more impressive is that its AAA WAI Compliant, fully accessible. Oh, it looks great to boot. Theres a small discussion about it too thats worth reading. Really good site, really good to see.
C|Net are doing a BIG series on the death of IE. Theres a good article on Webstandards too about this. It really does seem like people are seeing that there is a future to the web, that CSS based design needs good standardised browsers. Every time I load IE it locks up. Every time I design a site, IE does things wrong. My only fear is that by the time we have got a good enough market share Longhorn will be out with the stupidity that is Avalon and we'll have another fight on our hands.
