Yer yer yer yer yer yer YER!!!

1. Do you like to drink warm beverages in the morning or do you prefer yours cold? Hmm. I quite like orange juice in the mornin, but tbh nuffin

2. Have you ever been so upset with someone that you wanted to get revenge? What did you do? Or if you didn't, what would you like to have done? Um, nope.

3. Looking back, are there any opportunities you missed out on that you can see now but didn't realize then? Nah not really. I try not to regret things, am I where I am and I'm happy (for the most part).

4. Are there any clothes you refuse to throw away even though they don't (and never will) fit? Why do you keep them? Yer a few :) I keep em just in case, doesn't everyone??

5. Do you have an accent? Are there any phrases or words you say that tip folks that "you aren't from around these parts?" Nah not really. I just have a plain accent.

6. Are there any words folks misspell or incorrect uses of words that simply drive you insane? Nah, I'm not that anal :P

7. I am guilty of using pet names a bit too often, like "honey," "babe," and "sweetie." However, currently, no one uses any pet names on me (and I think I'd like one). Are there any pet names that you like to be called? Any you don't? Do you (or did you) have any pet names for your partner? It'd be nice if peeps called me "Sexy mofo", but then that probably won't happen.

BONUS: Why you so fly? Cos i am

Yer yer yer

1. Would you say that you're good at keeping in touch with people? Um, most of the time. I usually forget about well, most things. So its nuffin personal, just me :)

2. Which communication method do you usually prefer/use: e-mail, telephone, snail mail, blog comments, or meeting in person? Why? Which ever is easiest. Some its irc, others instant messenger, others email.

3. Do you have an instant messenger program? How many? Why/why not? How often do you use it? I have Trillian running most of the time, with contacts on MSN, Y!, and ICQ. I also have mIRC running while my pc is on. Find me in #nart on irc.quakenet.org

4. Do most of your close friends live nearby or far away? Around :) As we get older, peeps seem to be further away...

5. Are you an "out of sight, out of mind" person, or do you believe that "distance makes the heart grow fonder"? Um...In this day n age, we're far more connected and in touch than we used to be. So...i dunno :)

Lets rock n roll

So we had an earthquake this mornin. I actually felt it too! When it happened it felt like the floor beneath me was wibbling. I didn't notice the monitor moving cos I was on irc at the time typing a msg. But I definetly felt it. I joked in my head to the little peeps that it was an earthquake, but didnt really think so. Until...I got a msg on MSN, and then peeps in diff irc chans were all saying "EARTHQUAKE!!!". So that kinda gave me a clue :)

Click more to view the irc logs :)

And here's the official OcUK thread :D

So my PC should be pretty quiet with them in. Its currently around 40dba, so should drop to about 29dba (11times quieter) :) My parents said I don't get any of it till next week, but I can have the fans :)

PromoGuy's Monday Mission 2.37

1. Do you have a favorite piece of poetry or prose written by someone else? Care to share it? I love the last stanza of the poem "Ulysses" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

"Though we are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are - One equal temper of heroic hearts Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

It was in an episode of Babylon 5, just before they fough the Shadows and the Vorlons.

2. In High School, did you enjoy creative writing? Do you currently do any other writing in addition to your Blog? Yer I used to enjoy that. I once wrote a short story that was so impressive it got shown round the whole English department, was the best story in the yr i fink. Got top marks for it. My blog is about the only writing I do now tho, used todo poetry but that was because I needed to express my self that way back then. Now I just scream :)

3. Have you ever noticed that the Blog entries you least expect to get the most comments do, and those you expect to generate a lot of feedback don't? Which Blog entry of yours surprised you by getting a lot of comments? Which one did you think would generate a lot but didn't? Hmm, I hardly get comments anyways :)

4. Sometimes you get a chance to make a lifestyle change that has a huge impact on the course your life takes. That is, a moment where something became very clear to you, and that realization changed your life, such as: the need to leave a relationship, to stop an addiction, to bond with someone, to start a new career, and so on. Have you ever had an "awakening" moment in your life? In 2001 when I was remaking my petemc.com site I submitted it to a web design group for a checkup. Someone said "dump the babes section". I looked at my site and suddenly realised how ameteurish it was. It was far too geeky. I just had a moment of clarity, in that one instance I suddenly developed a sense of professionalism about my sites that I never used to have. Since then, as you can see petemc.com has gone from strength to strength. Another time was after uni, I just felt that having game posters on my wall was not me. I now have my degree (scrap of paper), a drawing of an Astin Martin and a pic of me getting my degree. After seeing Ep2 I did add 3 little SW posters and a large artwork one to my wall. But I decided I will only use that space for 1 large poster of the moment.

5. Then there are other times where you can have a huge impact on someone else's life. You suggest they see a doctor, stop them from taking that last drink, or maybe just say some kind words at the moment. Have you made a lasting positive impact on the life of someone else? Not that I can recall.

6. Are there any charities or organizations which you support? How did you come to be involved with them? I give £5 to Greenpeace each month. I got involved by some nice girl asking me to join them. I couldn't say no :)

7. Care to collaborate with me? Help me out and write the rest of this poem:

I drifted though a dream last night,
visions full of colors bright.
My thoughts began to drift to you,
and in an instant we were two.

I touched your hand,
We began to blend,
Filled with a feeling
that should have no end.

...

Um...

RE: Emperor boat thing

When I say I was told I was actually an emperor type guy it was like I'd been sent away from that life as a kid for protection. I'm trying to think of an example....Well annoyingly the only example is....The Princess Diaries Gah.

A socially awkward but very bright 15-year-old girl being raised by a single mom discovers that she is the princess of a small European country because of the recent death of her long-absent father, who, unknown to her, was the crown prince of Genovia. She must make a choice between continuing the life of a San Francisco teen or stepping up to the throne. While Mia makes up her mind, she's pressed into taking princess lessons from her grandmother.

Kinda like that scenario. So its not so much me taking control of my life, its more of outside forces showing me an alternate life. One were I'm this guy hated by millions. None of the stuff was actually mine, it was more stuff that was owned by my family (not my current one, the one that i'd be sent away from as a kid). Now I think about it, it could all be inspired by me writing about going to Knowsley Hall the previous day. If you take that into account, and I remember seeing on the news something about some ship and they said "The Greenpeace ship, the Rainbow Runner (or summin) will be out to protest", that explains quite a lot of it.

Just reading over Dave's "analysis" ;) they're written quite like a horoscope.

Toll Booth - You may have to pay a price to get what you really want.

Blockade - Someone is trying to stop you. You must find them and stop them.

Greenpeace - You must be diplomatic in your solution to this problem, not aggressive.

I've always felt that only the dreamer knows how to unlock their own dreams. They're created by your subconcious so no-one else really can say whats wot. Well they can, but as Dave's are, they're just too literal.

AKHDSFHKSHFHSD!!!! FUCKERS!!!

I am incredibly pissed off! I doubt theres much I can do about it either, apart from wait god knows how many years. But basically...

Dear Peter,

Thank you very much for your interest in theecronom.com. The world average domain name sale price in 2001 is $1400 but we think
$1000 should be proper. Let me know your thought and please feel free to contact me should you wish to further discuss this matter
with me. Thank you.

Best Regards,

Lee

Its mad dream time again

So I think I was told that I was actually some big emporer type guy. I had my own boat, well ship. It had all kinds of gadgets on it too, like room changing things. For some reason there was a toll booth like system that we were by, like one going into the Mersey tunnels. And then I got informed that there was a blockade, against me! I think...i remember saying that I'd heard that Greenpeace would be out here too. But i was told that it was against me.

Very bizzare, and sketchy.

I'll probably take it back cos its not as good as Resi will be on Friday. Speaking of Friday its entirely possible I may be working !!! But not heard anything yet.

Oh Sunday kicked ass! We played Lord who I thought'd be quite tough during warmup. But when we played em, we rocked!

Better late than never :)

1. Where were you and what was happening in your life the moment when you first became aware of what was happening at the World Trade Center in New York City last September 11th? What was the first thing you did when you heard the news? Well typically I was at my PC watching TV, chatting on IRC. My Dad said a plane had crashed into the WTC. I laughed and said "Whoa bad flying, how could u miss it?" He said it was terrorists. I then watched the whole thing live from about 2:30 or so. Chatted and relayed news to peeps on IRC/ICQ.

2. When those truly responsible for the attack are apprehended, what do you think would be the most fitting form of justice? Prison. But tbh I really don't know. Not death, they don't deserve it. They deserve to have their life stripped away from them and to just live in prison making license plates.

3. This will probably be much like when our parents respond to "Where were you when JFK was shot?"- an event never forgotten by those who were there. But how do you think the history books should present the 9-11 attacks? Should it be included for all future generations? How can we truly convey the shock, the outrage, the emotions and pain of that day to the children of our children? I think the pictures speak volumes. The moving images of a plane flying into a building is enough.

4. No one in that building, in the Pentagon, or on the planes (other than the terrorists) knew that 9-11 would be their last day to be alive. For me, it brought home the reality that I could be gone at anytime, without any warning. Now, I really want each day to have some value. Did the events of 9-11 bring about a change in the way you live your life? Not really. But thinking about it, it should have done. I never even thought about it in that way. I guess I still have trouble understanding and comprehending the whole event. That it was just every day people.

5. Several who loved to fly in planes will not step foot in one anymore. Many parents are more protective of their children. A year later, do you find yourself feeling more secure than back then? Or is it just a matter of time before something else happens? Being where I am, nuffin happens so when something like that happens I dunno. I knew I wouldn't want to fly for a while, but it seems ok now.

6. The best way for me to honor the those impacted by the attack will be to refrain from any media that day. No papers, no radio and especially no television. Others will light candles, and others will attend special services. What, if anything, will you do to personally reflect on the tragedy? I have no idea.

7. One of the visuals that touched me the most were the walls and walls full of hand made "Missing" posters. What image will you always have in your mind when you recall the events of 9-11? The planes crashing into the buildings is still with me. I can't look at a low flying plane without remembering it.

BONUS: Who's gonna come around when you break? Friends.

2. What irritating habits do you have? That I pickup on peeps irritating habits :)

3. Have you tried to change the irritating habits or just let them be? I've tried, it won't leave me be tho :(

4. What grosses you out more than anything else? Why? Gay sex...

5. What one thing can you never see yourself doing that other people do? LOL! Gay Sex :)
