Mouse noise

1 year after getting the Logitech MX700 mouse I've given it to my parents. Because of lag? No. Because its noisey :) My speakers, or should I say, just one of my speakers is picking up the signals from my wireless mouse. They all were techinically, just one was louder than the other. It only happened in one spot too, only one single spot on my desk. Ya know where? The sweet spot where I had my mouse, where i could rest my arm in comfort. That was the loudest part. I can't think of any reason why it would be louder there.

I tested it next to the speakers, it wasn't louder.
I tested it by moving the base unit, it wasn't louder.
Maybe it was the metal part of the desk? So I put it on the other side, and its quiet.
Maybe it was the speaker port? Changed and just as bad on that one speaker.

Theres nothing to suggest what it was. I guess its just *that* speaker. So if I want that mouse again, I need new speakers. Asuming that they don't pick up the interference too.

Hmm films

I'm 25, and I've seen THE best Fantasy film ever (LotR). I've seen THE best action/sci-fi/kung fu film ever (Matrix). In 2yrs I'll see THE best sci-fi film ever (Star Wars 3). So whats left for my cinematic pleasure? Not bloody much :) LotR is the definitive fantasy film, nothing has beaten it yet, and nothing will I'm sure :) Its the best book ever written. The Matrix trilogy is kinda its opposite, it has a great powerful battle between good and evil symbolised in 2 people. LotR has it symbolised in two massive armies. Each side of the coin. The Matrix has the best kung fu I've seen, the best kinda futuristic Earth based scifi ever imho. Star Wars 3 will be the best outa space scifi film ever, i hope :) Massive space battles, the biggest and baddest ever probably.

As long as they don't screw it up tho, Xmen and Spiderman have the potential to be a great long running series of films. Each one better than the last. So theres hope there for some decent films. But at 25, I think thats it really :) I think Titanic takes the epic love story award, comedy.... hmm, I don't think you can ever get THE greatest comedy film. Nothing springs to mind. The greatest happy film would have to be Amelie.

Yer so I'm worried, I won't be seeing anything better than LotR for that type of film, and I won't be seeing anything better than the Matrix for that type, or Star Wars. Thats not to say there won't be good films, just nothing will beat it.

Lord of the Ringsing

Watched LotR:TT last night. Extra scenes were good, you can see why some where left out. Some tho should have been left in imho. There were a few cheesy scenes that didn't really flow with the mood. But on the whole, the extra stuff was good to watch.

Return of the King tonight \o/. I can't imagine how its going to end tho. I keep thinking, Frodo will die. I also think that Aragon will marry the woman from Rohan and that will unite Gondor + Rohan. I could just watch the trailer, but that would spoil it :D

New stuff

I've been reading through the gallery forums recently, and found a few nice tricks. So now I've got a "featured" image, which is basically anything I want from my gallery gets put there. A "wow" photo :D I then have a completely random image under that, which is always fun to see, and then a list of recently updated galleries, which is handy.

New design

Yer yer yer, another one :D I read this article on fixed width design, which started gnawing at me. I did really like the old design, but I felt the title was outa place. I just lived with it tho cos I couldn't think up a better place for it. Now I have :D I've done some tweaking to the way entries are listed too, and I think it looks better for that. Emphasis on the entry, not the date. I'm not 100% happy with the navigation, but it'll do. I've also integrated the new gallery into the design as well, but that needs some tweaking, and the old photos need to be ported to it. A Xmasy image will be going up as soon as I have something Xmasy to take a photo off :D

Oh, it should be valid XHTML 1.0, valid CSS, Bobby Compliant as best as I can get it too :)
