I never write about viruses, I never have a problem with them. But today I've got about 6 copies of the new MyDoom virus. I figured I'd point out to peeps that if someone like me, never got a virus in the 8 years connected to the net, can get them easily, anyone can. Of course, Norton kills the attachments so I'm safe, but just to be aware. This is quite a bad one.

Well the Oscars Nominee list is out. LotR: Return of the King gets 11. Pirates of the Caribbean gets 5, Last Samurai gets 4. I'm starting to think maybe I should have gone to see Master and Commander as it gets 10. Naturally no nominations for either Matrix films. I'm sure Master and Commander has far better visual effects, oh yer real sure. Did you see that shit in Matrix:2, c'mon! Matrix:3, the battle scenes??? Easily on par with LotR: Two Towers. I'm guessing they just didn't make with the money when asked for "donations".

So finally the episode of Merseybeat I saw aired. I saw it being filmed back last summer. Was quite nice to just sit and chill while watching a film crew work. I didn't know who was who at the time as I never watched the show. So in a way, it was good that I watched a few episodes before the one I saw so I knew the characters properly. I always wondered how a Liverpool based police force would be out in New Brighton.

I can't stop thinking about last summer's trip to Bala Lake and Wales. It was so hot, we got there for 10am and it was just perfect. Quaint little town, ample parking, and Bala Lake was just gorgeous. I wanna go back. I wanna go sailing. Maybe its just cos I'm stuck here at home, nothing todo. I don't know. I'm just really excited about this summer, can't wait. I hope to go places. Lots more day trips.

Well it seems M4TTY beat me again :) /tips hat to him. I know I could beat his time as I can do the first part of the track faster than he can. I can get those extra few mili-seconds out of the course. Then I just loose it on those tight S bends. Part of my says to leave it, to play another game ffs, but another part of me says "oh yer? prove it" :) I might leave it for a bit as Rainbow Six 3 is quite fun and needs some loving.

So I checked Xbox Live and sure enough M4TTY had beaten my time. GRRR! :D After a few runs, I beat M4TTY's time by... 0.003 :D The first part of the course I am very fast on, beating M4TTY by 0.3 seconds at least. Its just when you hit the S bends, I just loose those precious 0.3s I gained. I know I can do it better. If I could just perfect that bit I'd easily get it to 56.9.

I noticed M4TTY is online now, playing PGR2. I wonder what he's doing ;) No doubt I'll awake to find my score beaten by 0.001 :D

I still haven't had much of a long session on Live, odd game here and there. Still enjoying the single player :) Although I do like the Ghost Challenge bit. My mate did the Barcelona course and set a good time. He came round and showed me it. So I felt obliged to beat it, and I did :) Then last night I noticed he beat mine.... this ... means ... war :D He took half a second off my time. It took me about 20 mins to get a decent enough lap to beat him, but I only beat him by half a second. I got it down to 58.2, within the top 1000. Surely that should have been enough? Noooooo. Every part of my body was screaming, GET IT UNDER 58 seconds! 1hr later, racing my own ghost, and the most I could beat myself was by 0.01 :) So I swapped to the Koenisigg. Not fast enough to beat the Enzo. Back to the Enzo, but with a twist. A yellow Enzo! First run, 57.885 :D Beating my mates time by a whole second. I felt happy. I know I could do better too, as my start was better on previous laps, but the corners were better on this.

PGR2 is seriously one of the best games I've ever played. I can't believe how addictive it is. Its multiplayer without having multiple players. Theres a sense of competition like no other game I've played. Maybe its because I can chat to people online who have it, as apposed to the 1st when I wasn't that active on OcUK Forums. Maybe its because i'm watching Initial D, and the game plays just like it?

It was so much fun last night. I can't belive how much like Initial D it was. I took a Honda Civic Type R, Dave took an Aston Martin Vanquish, Ian took a Skyline. I beat them! A Civic beat a Vanquish and Skyline! To make it worse, for them ;), they took a 911 GT2 and a F40. I beat that too! Just like the Eight-Six beating a Skyline or a Civic. Perfect cornering was the key. On a track with lots of straights, like Sydney, yer sure the F40 + 911 beat me. But on a windey track, my cornering was able to beat them :D Dave, wanting to know the secret picked a Civic. He was behind me the whole way and couldn't believe the power I had coming out of a corner....zooooooooooooom. Man I love PGR2!

I tried iTunes as soon as it came out, and well it didn't turn me from Winamp. Which was a shame after hearing so much about it. The main reasons why were because of the plugins I have for Winamp. I have one to show whats playing in mirc and Trillian. I have one to upload whats playing to my website too. Recently tho I found this thread on Aqua-Soft Forums that made all those plugins think that iTunes was Winamp. So now I can spam whats playing in mirc all I want, Trillian too probably :) I still need one for my website tho...

So now I had this plugin, I gave iTunes a fair run, and I think after 5 or 6 years I may have found my winamp replacement.

What do I love then?

• Ok, so I'm going out lets burn 1hr's worth of Sugababes, Rage Against the Machine and some Jazz to an mp3 cd for my car... done
• I know Winamp has fade between tracks, but iTunes one is devine.
• The music store, which doesn't support the UK yet, is brilliant. I spent a lot of time last night going through the Top 100 iTunes albums of 2003. Its great that you get 30 secs CD quality sound for a preview, and from the middle of the track too. Its such a great way to find new music.
• Its made me realise that I really do want to switch to a Mac, and that I will love it.
